What we're looking for:

NeuCyte is seeking a highly motivated Scientist / Senior Scientist to join our stem cell technology team. In this role, the successful candidate will provide molecular and cellular neuroscience expertise to the development of human cellular model systems for drug discovery. The position requires strong background in in vitro disease modeling and phenotypic assay development.

What you’ll do:

Provide NeuCyte's disease programs with molecular and cellular tools for phenotypic drug screening
Participate in/Lead the design and implementation of cell-based assays
Participate in the design and management of an iPSC work environment including QA and QC
Develop and perform high-content imaging assays for phenotypic drug screening with expertise in Operetta and IncuCyte imaging platforms preferred; develop automated image analysis pipelines; support the general needs around imaging and microscopy
Work with the team to develop and perform molecular biology and biochemistry assays for phenotypic drug screening, develop data analysis pipelines, and support the general needs around molecular biology and biochemistry
Work with the team to maintain molecular biology and imaging-related instruments, interact with service partners and instrument manufacturers
Participate in/Lead preparation and maintenance of cell cultures for molecular biology, high-content imaging, and functional assays
Work with the team to define and implement procedures for data management
Keep up with the technology field, review relevant literature, and evaluate systems and analysis solutions
Prepare SOPs and train/supervise technical staff to assist with assays as needed
Write project reports, present projects at internal and external meetings

Required:

PhD with 3-5 years of relevant technical experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or biotech lab environment
Experience with phenotypic assays and related data interpretation
Experience with molecular biology and biochemistry assays such as DNA and RNA extraction, PCR and qPCR, plasmid construction, Western blotting, ELISA, etc.
Proficiency in the use of at least one commercial imaging system and related data analysis software
Deep expertise in microscopy and imaging technologies, instrument handling, and trouble-shooting
Basic knowledge in genomics
Clear written and oral communication and detailed documentation skills

Preferred:

Background in neuroscience
Deep knowledge in molecular and cellular biology
Experience with iPSC culture maintenance
Basic computer programming skills for data processing
